Mark Mortonson, MHEd, MDiv, PFT
Mark Mortonson has worked in the area of medically supervised weight management for the past 4 years, and has been a personal fitness trainer for several years before that time. He attended Western Illinois University, Macomb, Illinois where he received both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Health Education. He also received a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, South Hamilton, Massachusetts and had been involved in pastoral ministry for approximately 20 years prior to entering the weight management field.

Mark’s work with SOBC is as the Support Group Facilitator. He brings a real enthusiasm for helping patients make the most of their surgery and weight loss through strong encouragement and practical strategies. Seeing people grow into their new lifestyles and discover the health they have worked so hard for is a reward for Mark in and of itself. We are grateful to have him as a member of our bariatric team!

 

Linda Duffy-Glassman, MSW
Linda Duffy-Glassman is a medical Social Worker at Rogue Valley Medical Center. She meets with individuals scheduled for bariatric surgery at the Pre-admission Class and Clinic to share some of the social and emotional changes patients experience after weight-loss surgery. Linda follows each patient while they are in the hospital.

Linda obtained her master’s in Social Work from Simmons College in Boston. She has 15 years of in-patient medical experience, including work with surgical patients at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and Norwalk Hospital in Connecticut.

Linda’s role as an in-patient social worker at Rogue Valley Medical Center is to provide information on resources, as well as support to individuals and families facing life changes due to medical issues.

Linda has facilitated groups in the area of weight loss, cancer, and bereavement. She is pleased to be a member of the Southern Oregon Bariatric Center team and looks forward to supporting patients in the long-term success of this life changing process.
